The Big Rapids Housing Commission strives to bring affordable housing to Big Rapids. In December 2022, the Big Rapids Housing Commission was awarded a Missing Middle Housing Program grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) in the amount of $362,500. Now, as of December 2023, MSHDA has increased our grant to $475,000!  These funds will be used to help with construction costs of the first five new homes on Mechanic Street.
